Convert PNG to JPG — Files Never Leave Your Browser
Convert PNG images to JPG entirely in your browser. No upload, no server, no watermark. Handles transparent backgrounds. Batch convert and download as ZIP.
How to convert PNG to JPG
- Select your PNG files. Drop them onto the box above or click to browse. Multiple files work — batch convert as many as you need.
- Set quality and background. Adjust the JPG quality slider (85% recommended). If your PNG has a transparent background, choose the fill color — white is the default and correct for most forms and ID uploads.
- Click Convert to JPG. Conversion runs entirely in your browser. Download each JPG individually, or click “Download all as ZIP” to get everything in one file.
Why convert PNG to JPG?
PNG is a lossless format — great for logos and screenshots. But for photos and most form uploads, JPG is what portals expect. Four common reasons to convert:
- The upload form only accepts JPG. Government portals, visa applications, and exam systems frequently list only JPG as accepted. PNG gets rejected.
- Your PNG file is too large. A 2 MB PNG photo often becomes a 300–600 KB JPG at 85% quality — far easier to meet a 100 KB or 200 KB upload limit.
- You need a white-background photo. If your PNG has a transparent background, this tool fills it with white — standard for ID photos, passport photos, and application forms.
- Compatibility. JPG is universally supported. Some older systems and apps only open JPG, not PNG.
FAQ
Can I convert PNG to JPG without uploading my photos?
Yes. This tool converts PNG to JPG entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your PNG files never leave your device and are never sent to any server. The conversion happens locally on your computer or phone.
What happens to transparent areas in PNG images?
PNG supports transparent backgrounds; JPG does not. When converting, transparent pixels are filled with a solid color — white by default. You can change the fill color using the background color picker before converting. For most use cases (ID photos, forms, scans), white is the correct choice.
Will the JPG look the same as the PNG?
Almost identical at 85% quality (the default). JPG uses lossy compression, so there is minimal quality reduction — undetectable to the human eye for photos and most graphics. If you need higher fidelity, raise the quality slider to 95%. JPG files are typically 50–80% smaller than equivalent PNGs for photographs.
Can I convert multiple PNG files at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many PNG files as you need. The tool converts them one by one and lets you download each individually, or all together as a single ZIP file using the “Download all as ZIP” button.
Why would I convert PNG to JPG?
Common reasons: (1) An upload form only accepts JPG and rejects your PNG. (2) Your PNG file is too large — JPG makes it 50–80% smaller to meet a KB limit. (3) You need a white-background photo for an ID or form. (4) Better compatibility with email clients and older apps.
Does PNG to JPG conversion work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on Windows, Mac, Android, and iPhone (iOS 14+). No app download needed. The conversion runs on your device's own processor.
